We are not a Fort Collins company. We are a Longmont company that has been working the northern corridor for years, and we would rather tell you that up front than pretend otherwise.
Here is why people up here call us anyway.
Most of what we do in Fort Collins is the work that takes real time: full exteriors, whole-home interiors, historic properties in Old Town, and cabinet packages. Those are jobs where the difference between a good painter and a cheap one shows up two years later, and they are jobs where crews get chosen on process rather than proximity. If you need a bedroom touched up next week, there is someone closer and you should call them. If you are repainting the whole house and you want it done once, keep reading.
After twenty-seven years in this trade, the thing I care most about is what is underneath the color.
Fort Collins has some of the best-preserved historic housing stock on the Front Range. The Old Town Historic District, the Laurel School area, the Loomis Addition, and the mid-century homes along Sheely Drive are all recognized for a reason.
They are also the hardest houses to paint correctly.
Pre-1940 construction means wood lap siding, deep and often decorative trim, original single-pane windows with glazing putty that has not been touched in generations, and lead paint on virtually every surface. We are EPA Lead-Safe certified and we follow containment and disposal protocol as written, not as convenient. On a house where kids live, that is not a formality.
If your property is city-designated or sits within a designated district, exterior alterations may run through Fort Collins historic preservation review. We will tell you upfront whether your project is likely to need it, help document existing conditions, and prepare a color submittal with manufacturer names, codes, and placement by architectural element.
Painted brick is worth a separate mention. A lot of Old Town brick has been painted at some point, and once brick is painted the decision is effectively permanent. If you are considering it for the first time, talk to us about limewash instead. It is breathable, it ages differently, and it does not trap moisture in masonry the way a film-forming coating does.
Same high-altitude UV as the rest of the Front Range, roughly 300 sunny days a year, and the same hail corridor. What people underestimate is the daily temperature swing. A February day here can run 20 degrees at sunrise and 60 by afternoon.
Every one of those cycles makes wood siding and trim expand and contract. Caulk that was not rated for that movement splits at the joint, water gets behind it, and rot starts underneath the paint where nobody sees it until a board goes soft under a thumb.
This is why we do not quote off a photo and why our estimates take longer than most. The failures that matter are the ones you cannot see from the driveway.
Our approach is not a secret product. It is Sherwin-Williams as the standard line, elastomeric caulk at the joints that actually move, correct spread rates instead of a thin coat that looks good on day one, and prep that takes as long as it takes.
Fort Collins is a university town, which means a large share of the housing near campus is owned by people who do not live in it. That is a different job with different priorities: turnover windows between leases, high-traffic interiors, and finishes that need to be scrubbable rather than beautiful.
We schedule around lease turnover, price multi-unit work as a package, and spec products built for tenant traffic. If you own several properties, that is exactly the kind of work the drive is worth for, on both sides.
Old Town, Old Town West, and the Laurel School area. Pre-1940 wood, historic review, lead protocol, and trim detail that takes real time.
Sheely Drive and the mid-century pockets. Distinctive architecture that deserves a color conversation rather than a default.
Campus West and the neighborhoods near CSU. Rental and investment property, scheduled around turnover.
City Park, Miramont, Clarendon Hills, and Willow Springs. Established neighborhoods, mixed ages, heavy on full exterior repaints.
Rigden Farm, Bucking Horse, Fossil Lake Ranch, Observatory Village, Maple Hill, and the Harmony corridor. Newer construction in fiber cement and stucco, with HOA color submittals on most of it. We prepare those packages as part of the job.
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinet refinishing. You get a written scope naming every surface and every finish before we start. We mask and protect like you still live there, because you do.
Wash, scrape and sand to sound substrate, spot prime, caulk what moves, replace what is rotten, then coat. We schedule around Colorado weather rather than pretending it will cooperate, and we will tell you honestly when we are too close to the temperature window to do the job right.
Call (720) 441-6413 or request an estimate online. We will walk the house with you, show you what we see, and give you a number that does not move.
You are based in Longmont. Why would I hire you in Fort Collins? For a small job, you probably should not, and we will tell you that. For a full exterior, a whole-home interior, a historic property, or a cabinet package, crews get chosen on process rather than proximity. Those are the projects we drive up for and the ones we are built to do.
Do you work on historic homes in Old Town? Yes, and it is some of our favorite work. Pre-1940 housing means lead paint protocol, careful trim work, and often a historic review process. We are Lead-Safe certified and we handle the documentation.
Should I paint my brick? Think hard before you do. Painting brick is effectively permanent and a film-forming coating can trap moisture in masonry. Limewash is breathable, ages more gracefully, and is usually the better answer for Old Town brick. We will walk you through both honestly.
Do you work with rental property owners near CSU? Yes. We schedule around lease turnover, package multi-unit work, and spec scrubbable finishes built for tenant traffic rather than for a showroom.
How long should exterior paint last in Fort Collins? Correctly prepped and coated, 8 to 12 years. Most early failures trace back to skipped prep or a single thin coat, not to the product on the label.
We handle interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet painting and refinishing, commercial painting, popcorn ceiling removal, drywall finishing, deck and fence staining, brick limewashing, and epoxy floor coatings throughout Fort Collins.
