Firestone is fifteen minutes from our shop. We are not driving in from Denver and we are not a franchise routing your call to a call center two states away. Our trucks pass through Firestone on the way to other jobs.
That has a practical consequence most people do not think about when they are picking a painter. Distance decides which jobs a company actually wants. Up in Fort Collins we turn down small interior work, because an hour and a half of round-trip drive time eats a two-day job alive. In Firestone we will take your two-bedroom interior next week and be glad to have it.
If you have been getting quotes from companies that only seem interested in your whole house, that is why.
We work Firestone, Frederick, and Dacono the same way, because that is how people here actually live. You shop in one town, your kids go to school in another, and nobody stops at the town line. A painter who only knows Firestone does not know your neighborhood.
Most of the Carbon Valley went up after 2000, which puts a large share of homes in one of two positions.
Built 2015 and later. Barefoot Lakes, the newer St. Vrain Ranch phases, and the recent Frederick developments. These are reaching seven to ten years, which is exactly when builder-grade paint gives out. Production builders apply one thin coat of low-solids product over factory prime. It looks perfect at closing and was never built to last out here. If your south and west sides look tired while the north still looks fine, that is not your imagination.
Built 2000 to 2012. Sagebrush, Booth Farms, Oak Meadows, Silverstone, and the earlier phases. These are on their second repaint, and the question is no longer color. It is whether the siding is still sound. At twenty years prep is the entire job. Anything soft gets replaced before it gets coated, or you are paying to paint rot.
Firestone sits on open Weld County plains with nothing to slow anything down. No foothills, no tree cover, no shelter. Two things follow from that, and the second one is the part almost nobody talks about.
Wind. It drives moisture into every opening it can find and strips the coating film off exposed corners and edges. It also makes spraying a judgment call rather than a schedule item.
Airborne dust. Between open agricultural ground, county roads, truck traffic, and active energy operations, there is more grit in the air out here than in Boulder or Longmont. Wet paint catches it. Dust that settles into a film before it cures is in the finish permanently, and no amount of buffing fixes it. On a windy day next to open ground, the correct answer is to stop.
That is a harder conversation than just spraying and moving on, and it is one of the main reasons a Firestone paint job looks gritty two years later. We will tell you when conditions are wrong and we will lose a day rather than put a compromised finish on your house.
Add high-altitude UV across roughly 300 sunny days a year, hail season, and February days that swing forty degrees between sunrise and afternoon, and you have an environment that finds every shortcut. Our answer is Sherwin-Williams as the standard line, elastomeric caulk at the joints that actually move, correct spread rates instead of a thin coat, and prep that takes as long as it takes.
Barefoot Lakes, St. Vrain Ranch, Silverstone, Neighbors Point, and most Carbon Valley developments run architectural review with an approved color palette. A lot of homeowners find that out after they have already picked a color.
We prepare the submittal package as part of the job: manufacturer, color names and codes, placement by architectural element, and the photos or drawings your committee expects. If your board pushes back, we help you answer them.
Barefoot Lakes. Newer construction, water features, and an active review process. Lake-facing elevations take harder exposure than the rest of the house and should be scoped that way.
St. Vrain Ranch, Silverstone, and Neighbors Point. Fiber cement, LP SmartSide, and stucco. Builder-grade repaints coming due.
Sagebrush, Booth Farms, Oak Meadows, and Firestone Meadows. The 2000s builds now at the age where siding condition decides whether the job lasts five years or twelve.
Old Firestone and the original blocks. The town has coal mining roots going back over a century, and the original housing stock reflects it. Pre-1978 construction means lead paint protocol applies. We are EPA Lead-Safe certified and we follow it as written.
Frederick and Dacono. Same crews, same schedule, same pricing.
Acreage and outbuildings east of I-25. Barns, shops, and detached garages included. We have the equipment for tall and awkward.
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinet refinishing. You get a written scope naming every surface and every finish before we start, so nobody is arguing later about whether the closets were included. Small jobs welcome, which is not something every company will tell you.
Wash, scrape and sand to sound substrate, spot prime, caulk what moves, replace what is rotten, then coat. We schedule around Colorado weather instead of pretending it will cooperate.
Call (720) 441-6413 or request an estimate online. We are close enough that scheduling a walkthrough is easy. We will show you what we see and give you a number that does not move.
Do you take smaller jobs in Firestone? Yes. We are fifteen minutes away, so a two-room interior or a single accent project makes sense for us here in a way it would not an hour north. If a company is only interested in your whole house, drive time is usually why.
Do you serve Frederick and Dacono too? Yes, all three. Same crews, same scheduling, same pricing. The Carbon Valley is one market as far as we are concerned.
Do I need HOA approval to paint my house in Firestone? In Barefoot Lakes, St. Vrain Ranch, Silverstone, Neighbors Point, and most developments built in the last twenty years, yes. We prepare the color submittal package as part of the project.
My house is only eight years old. Why does it need paint already? Builder-grade paint is one thin coat of low-solids product, priced to pass a final walkthrough rather than to last. In Firestone's wind, dust, and UV exposure, seven to ten years is a normal life for it, and the south and west elevations go first.
Why does my paint look gritty? Dust settling into a wet film before it cures. Between open ground, county roads, and truck traffic, there is more grit in the air out here than most places on the Front Range, and it embeds permanently. The only real fix is not spraying on the wrong day.

Dustin and his team did a great job on our house. They painted the exterior, re-stained the fence and front porch, and painted the front door. It was a big change from the previous color, and it looks great! We've gotten tons of compliments from...
